During a rare eclipse and planetary alignment, a lonely young woman’s whispered wish collides with the plans of an heir, an angel, and three desperate criminals.

 

AISLING (Alexandra Dowling), an Irish twenty-something living on her grandparents’ rural American farm, has never left home since the accident that killed her parents. She runs the place like a pro, but inside she’s stuck — afraid to travel, to dream, to move on. On the night the world watches the skies, she digs up her mother’s old locket by the well and, unable to bear her grief, asks the stars for the courage to live her own life.

 

Her wish is answered when a living star crashes into the wheat field and the ARCHANGEL RAPHAEL (John Rhys-Davies) appears, slipping the tiny celestial “wishing star” into her locket. But the miracle is witnessed from afar by PETER (Gbenga Akinnagbe), a hardened ex-con on the run with his partners MARTIN (Tom Carey) and NICK (John Westley). When they see the star’s power turn scrap metal into gold, it becomes their new score — and Aisling their target.

 

Fleeing through the night, Aisling and Raphael nearly collide with JOSHUA (Diego Boneta), a romantic but conflicted heir trying to save — or surrender — his family’s once-legendary resort, The Chateau. One hair-raising car chase and ferry ride later, Aisling finds herself in Joshua’s world of secret tunnels, underground lakes and pirate treasure, where a single night of adventure and intimacy sparks a tender, unexpected love. Watching from the sidelines are Zelda (Elisabeth Röhm), Joshua’s glamorous, jealous ex; GRACE (Christine Ebersole), his loyal confidante; and Raphael, gently nudging destiny along.

 

But dawn brings violence. The criminals storm The Chateau, then track Aisling back to the farm, turning her family home into a burning battleground. In the final siege, Raphael is mortally wounded protecting her. To save him, Aisling must use the one wish bound to the star — even if it costs her own future with Joshua.

 

STARBRIGHT is a romantic, family-friendly fantasy that blends car chases, sword fights and outlaw mayhem with magical realism and deeply felt emotion.
